RUP-280 grinder: hydrostatic geometric stiffness

Micron repeatability in grinding. Grinding of rotational surfaces needs absolute kinematic stability. On the RUP-280 we eliminate static friction and micro-vibration through hydrostatic bearings and ways.

Spindle and slide rest on a stable oil film. Cutting speeds up to 45 m/s stay inside a stiff frame - directly supporting tight surface-roughness targets.

Designed tolerances

• Roughness: Ra ≤ 0.16 µm
• Roundness: 0.0015 mm
• Diameter repeatability: ≤ 0.005 mm

Process envelope

External grinding of shafts (Ø up to 280 mm, length up to 1000 mm), internal grinding of blind and through bores up to Ø 200 mm, plus faces and flanges.
